A Home for the Arts: The Water House Gallery
As the Town of Pike Road has grown, so have the offerings of the Arts Council and all ENHANCE committees. We are excited to invite you to visit the new home for the arts in the Town of Pike Road: The Pike Road Arts Center, home to the Water House Gallery, studio space, and a variety of arts-related activities. Located at 944 Wallahatchie Rd, under the water tower, the PRAC opened its doors in the summer of 2019. We are excited about the opportunities this facility presents, including art classes, artists in residence, and more.
PRAC Hours:
Saturdays: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Sundays: 1 – 4 p.m.
First Thursday of each month: 5 – 8 p.m.
The Arts Center is also open by appointment. Please email Arts Council Coordinator Patty Payne at [email protected] or call (334) 221-9004 to set up an appointment!
Annual Pike Road Plein Air Paint Out
The Annual Pike Road Plein Air Paint Out has become a cherished tradition in our community, celebrating its 14th year in 2025. This event began as a small gathering of local artists and has grown to attract talent from across the River Region and beyond. Each year, artists come together to capture the unique beauty of Pike Road’s landscapes, working outdoors to create stunning pieces that reflect the ever-changing light and colors of our surroundings. The event not only showcases the incredible artistic talent in our area but also fosters a sense of community and appreciation for the natural beauty that defines Pike Road. Over the years, the Plein Air Paint Out has evolved to include various activities, such as live painting demonstrations, art sales, and community engagement opportunities, making it a highlight of the town’s cultural calendar. Join us in celebrating this vibrant tradition and witness the magic of plein air painting in action!
