Brushstrokes of Freedom Art Show

The Pike Road Arts Council is proud to present Brushstrokes of Freedom, an inspiring exhibition by local and regional artists. Running from November 1st through December 20th, 2026, this compelling collection of works explores the enduring themes of life, liberty, and the pursuit of freedom in the United States of America through 250 years of American Democracy.

Join us for the opening reception on November 1st from 2 pm to 5 pm, where visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet the artists and experience firsthand the powerful brushwork that captures the spirit of American freedom.  The Water House Gallery at the Pike Road Arts Center is open Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 4 pm throughout the exhibition. Art will be accepted at the Pike Road Arts Center beginning October 24. The Arts Center & Water House Gallery (944 Wallahatchie Rd) are open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sundays from 1 – 4 p.m. To mail in artwork, schedule drop-off during a different time, or learn more, please contact Arts Council Coordinator Patty Payne at 334-221-9004 or Patty@pikeroad.us.

DETAILS AND RULES FOR ENTRY

● Representational and Abstract art is welcome!

● There is no fee for entry, and artists are limited to 6 entries.

●   Submissions can be in any medium, original art only.

●   Artwork that is fragile or not fixed or dry (pastel, wet paint, ceramics) should be protected accordingly. We will take every precaution to protect your work.

●   Art must be gallery-wrapped or framed with a wire, ready to hang.

●   You will price your art.  For each piece of art sold, the Town of Pike Road will collect a 15% commission on sales. Payment for sold artwork will be mailed to artists within 30 days of the close of the show. You must have a W-9 on file with the Town of Pike Road to receive payment.

●   All unsold artworks must be picked up no later than March 1 at the Pike Road Arts Center.

●   Art will be accepted at the Pike Road Arts Center beginning on January 17, 2026. The deadline to submit art is June 28th. The Arts Center and Water House Gallery are open on Saturdays from 10 AM – 4 PM and Sundays from 1-4 PM.

●    You can email a short artist bio to Patty@pikeroad.us and include a website if you have one where your art is offered online.

The Pike Road Arts Council reserves the right to exclude art not considered suitable.
