“Our community needs to know we don’t just go to the grocery store to buy our food. We need to know where it comes from,” said Mary Norman with the Montgomery County Extension.
The free event aims to bridge the gap between local farms and the community, offering educational experiences for both children and adults who may not fully realize the journey food takes from the farm to the table.
“It’s going to be fun watching children who may have never seen a live animal that they can walk up and touch,” Norman added.
In addition to educational exhibits, visitors can browse the Farm Fresh Marketplace, which will feature local vendors offering fresh produce, honey, plants, flowers, baked goods, handmade items, and other agriculture-related products. The marketplace provides an excellent opportunity for the community to support local producers and discover the diverse goods generated by Alabama agriculture.
