PIKE ROAD, AL – The Town of Pike Road will implement adjusted sales tax rates beginning Oct. 1, 2026. The sales tax rate within town limits will be 10%, while the rate in the Town’s police jurisdiction will be 8.25%.
The Pike Road Town Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 2026-0622 during its regular meeting July 13. The ordinance updates the Town’s sales and use tax provisions and directs additional revenue toward public safety, public infrastructure, educational initiatives and community enrichment projects.
“This adjustment is a positive investment in Pike Road’s future,” Mayor Gordon Stone said. “The Town Council’s action to align our rate with many surrounding communities will provide greater consistency for consumers and businesses while helping the Town maintain the roads, educational partnerships, public safety services and community programs that contribute to the quality of life our residents value. We remain committed to responsible stewardship of every taxpayer dollar.”
The adjusted rates are intended to simplify tax administration and create greater consistency in purchasing transactions throughout the region. Revenue generated by the adjustment will help support road construction and maintenance, educational initiatives and community partnerships, Fire Department operations and equipment, and community activities and events.
