Town of Pike Road Board of Education Application

The Pike Road Schools Board of Education applications are now closed for the 2025 appointment. Applicants may now submit the below Board of Education Application for the 2026 appointment. Citizens are welcome to apply by completing the application below with the understanding that this process may be subject to change at anytime.
Individuals who apply via the process below should expect a confirmation email from the Town of Pike Road Clerk once your application has been received. Applications will only be processed during normal business hours.
Board of Education Application & Selection Process
- Applications may be submitted at any time during the year. Applications submitted after the selection process will be placed in the selection process for the following year only.
- Applications will be reviewed by the Town Council for compliance with Alabama law. The School Board Review Committee (consisting of individuals from the Pike Road Town Council) will further evaluate the applications.
- The School Board Review Committee and, if needed, others will conduct interviews.
- The School Board Review Committee will make recommendations to the town council, who may, in turn, hold a final vote or consider another individual(s).
- The town council has the right to confirm one of the names considered by the committee or nominate and confirm another individual.
- The school board members are appointed to five-year terms and serve on a staggered rotation, with one member rotating off each year or being reappointed for another five-year term.
- An unfulfilled term of an individual replacing a school board member who leaves before their term is complete is considered one term, whether it is one, two, three, four, or five years. A school board member may serve two consecutive terms but must have a break in service of one year after that in order to be appointed to another term.
