The Pike Road Arts Council and Brantley Bank at Pike Road are inviting our community’s imaginative youth artists to submit a unique piece of art for the 3rd Annual “My Pike Road” Youth Art Contest, with this year’s theme celebrating 250 years of America. This art contest is intended to encourage young artists in our community to illustrate what they see when they think of “My Pike Road,” highlighting the places, people, and moments that make our hometown special while showing how Pike Road is part of America’s story as we celebrate 250 years. Before you begin your application, please review the eligibility, guidelines, judging criteria, and deadline information. Applications must be submitted to the Brantley Bank at Pike Road office (9545 Vaughn Road) by 4:30 p.m. on June 2, 2026.
Eligibility

Open to children ages 6 – 12 who are residents of the Town of Pike Road.

Each submission must be an original artwork created during 2026.

Only one (1) submission per child is allowed.
Artwork Guidelines
-
Artwork must depict a scene in the Town of Pike Road that illustrates a reason why you love your hometown. As we celebrate 250 years of America, artists are encouraged to consider how their scene reflects community, history, patriotism, or the future of Pike Road as part of America’s story.

Artwork must depict an outdoor or public space within the Town of Pike Road that represents a place where our community comes together.

Artists are not limited in their use of color and are welcome to incorporate colors or elements that reflect their vision of Pike Road and America.

Submissions must be landscape orientation (horizontal) and 11″ wide x 8.5″ tall (standard printer paper size).

Sculptures, 3D images, videos, or photographs will NOT be accepted.
Judging Criteria
All artwork will be judged anonymously. Judges will evaluate the artwork based on the following criteria:

Technical Skills – The artwork must display artists skill in painting, drawing, or digital art.

Creativity – The artwork must be the student’s work and cannot be plagiarized or in violation of any copyright.

Artist’s Statement – Along with the artwork, each submission must be accompanied by a brief (1–3 sentence) statement that explains the scene depicted, why they love their hometown, and how their artwork reflects what makes Pike Road special as we celebrate 250 years of America.
Deadline and Submission Requirements

Applications for participation can be picked up at Brantley Bank & Trust Co. at Pike Road (9545 Vaughn Road), Monday – Thursday, 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. or found at pikeroad.us. There is NO ENTRY FEE required to participate!

Please DO NOT punch holes or fold your artwork. Clips will be available to secure your application form to your artwork.

ALL FIELDS on the attached application must be completed. Failure to fill-in a field may result in disqualification from the competition.

Children and parents must sign a release for use of the artwork if their submission is chosen as a winner.
Prizes

All submitted art will be on display for the public at the Brantley Bank at Pike Road office until June 30, 2026. Child/Parent/Guardian will be allowed to pick up their art after June 30.

The First Place Winner will receive $100, Second Place will receive $75, Third Place will receive $50, Fourth Place will receive $25, and People’s Choice Winner will receive $50. Further, each winner will recieve commemorative ornament featuring their artwork.

BONUS: The artwork submitted by the First Place Winner will be used on the t-shirt for the 15th Annual Pike Road Plein Air Paint Out!

People’s Choice Voting will take place June 4 – June 19 at Brantley Bank at Pike Road and on pikeroad.us!
