While growing up in Texas, I enjoyed drawing and did some oil painting in 1973. However, college, work as an Occupational Therapist, and motherhood took priority for many years. We moved to North Shelby County and I began taking oil painting classes and did studio work beginning in 2015. I decided to join Alabama Plein Air Artists in 2017 and now primarily paint landscapes, rustic buildings, sailboats on the water, and street scenes. Painting outdoors gives me a memory and impression of the place, time, and conditions, which I try to convey.
