About the Event
Beginners and experts alike will gain new insights and skills in color mixing, light and shadow theory, and expressive brushwork with John Guernsey on Sept. 22 – 23, and learn to handle complex subject matter with easy, simple gestures. John combines lectures, demonstrations, practice studies, and one-on-one assistance to help you think in new ways about oil painting. Expect a focused, yet relaxed, atmosphere with lots of fun and camaraderie. The two-day workshop costs $250/person and will be held at the Pike Road Arts Center (944 Wallahatchie Rd).

About the Artist: Originally from southern California, contemporary landscape artist John Guernsey, moved to Georgia in 1993 and began a full-time art career in 2006. Developing his drawing skills in college courses and workshop study, he now concentrates primarily on landscape painting.…
