The Cottage Food Law allows Alabamians to prepare nonhazardous foods at their homes and sell them directly to consumers with an up-to-date food safety certification. This workshop, presented in partnership with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, will cover:
- The products that can be sold under the Alabama Cottage Foods Law
- Labeling and testing requirements
- Special food safety considerations when producing food in a home kitchen
- How to obtain an Alabama Cottage Foods Permit
This workshop is perfect for youth and adults interested in starting a home-based food business, as well as anyone already producing food from home who wants to learn how to do so legally.
