Join the Pike Road Arts Council for the Glazing with Oil Paints Workshop with Charles Payne at the Pike Road Arts Center (944 Wallahatchie Rd)! On March 30 and April 6, Charles will lead beginners through the traditional technique of glazing, from start to finish.
Glazing is used to increase the depth and intensify colors in a painting, taking your art to the next level. Glazing with oil was around before the Renaissance, but it was not used for fine art. After Jan Van Eyck and Leonardo Da Vinci, glazing with oil paints became a common tool for painters. Together, participants will uncover these old techniques and how to use them effectively! Beginners are welcomed and encouraged to develop their skills at this introductory course.
