Call For Artists - Passing Through: Thresholds Art Show

The Pike Road Arts Council is putting out a call for artists to participate in the "Passing Through: Thresholds" Art Show (Jan. 15 - Feb. 13, 2022). Artists are invited to create work no larger than 16”x20”, in any medium, that depicts places we pass through such as thresholds, doors, gates, etc.

There is no fee for entry, and up to two pieces of artwork will be accepted per artist. For each piece of art sold, a 15% commission shall be paid to the Town of Pike Road.

Please submit your art to the gallery between January 6th (5-8 PM) and 14th. The gallery is manned on Saturdays from 10 am – 4 pm and Sundays from 1 pm – 4 pm. Or schedule an appointment to mail art, or to drop off artwork outside of regular hours (1st Thursdays between 5-8 pm, Saturdays between 10 am-4 pm and Sundays between 1-4 pm):

Rules for Entry: • Maximum of 2 entries per artist. • Open to any medium on any surface and any subject • Giclee’s of your original art is acceptable. • Artwork that is fragile or not fixed or dry (sculpture, pastel, wet paint) should be protected accordingly. We will take every precaution to protect your work. • Payment for sold artwork will be mailed to artists within fourteen days of the close of the show. • The Pike Road Arts Council reserves the right to exclude art not considered suitable. • You must price your art if you offer it for sale. • Art must be framed with a wire ready to hang.

Note: All unsold artwork must be picked up no later than March 4th, 2022, at the Pike Road Arts Center.

The Pike Road Arts Center (PRAC) is located at 944 Wallahatchie Rd, under the water tower. It is home to the Water House Gallery and gift shop, studio space, and a variety of events presented by the Pike Road Arts Council, an ENHANCE initiative committee.
